Waukesha County, WI – Wisconsin farmer Gary Thompson is having trouble growing sunflowers during this year’s severe drought. The exceptionally hot and dry conditions are preventing Gary’s crops from getting the water it needs. Gary has discovered a way to harness the power of the sun to save his farm.
Gary is using a solar-powered water reel to irrigate his sunflowers. The reel shoots water 40 feet in the air and can water up to 10 acres, all thanks to the power of the sun.
